Description:

Featured is this spectacular WWII Havilland DH-4 Airplane Model (large) from our line of beautifully hand crafted vehicle models. This elegantly crafted airplane model is the perfect size for use as a decor in your bedroom/bathroom, dining room, or as the center piece in your living area/office. This decor piece provides a nice vintage style look for your surroundings.

This airplane model is painted with multiple tones of antique finish beautifully textured. The structure is strong as the body is welded with metal inserts. Looks just like the real WWII Havilland DH-4 airplane. Not a kit, comes assembled and ready to display.

It is heavy and strongly made. Propellers can spin and rolls along its wheels perfectly.

History: The de Havilland DH-4 was a famous bomber and observation plane flown by the Allies over European battlefields in World War I. The German Albatros was one of its mortal enemies. Although very potent and a worthy opponent, the DH-4's shortcoming was the 67-gallon fuel tank between the pilot and observer. When the tank was hit by enemy rounds, the DH-4 turned into a flying inferno. England's Geoffrey de Havilland was the DH-4's designer but the European Allies weren't able to produce them fast enough for the war effort and so they were also manufactured in the United States. It was powered by the US-designed and built V-12 Liberty engine, a 400hp workhorse. After the war, DH-4s barnstormed at county fairs and were put to good use by carrying air mail..
